Lo-fi - what is it?
Lo-Fi is a music genera that was spawned from (what is presumed to be) millennial nostalgia for the late 80s to mid 90s. The songs are often without vocals and use very simple piano and/or guitar melodies. The chords and drum beat used are also very simplistic, to make it easy on the ears. The samples used are often from 80s/90s cartoons, movies and games, but can also be from jazz or funk songs. Lo-Fi is often correlated with studying/ chilling, but is often used as beats for rap songs. The simplicity of these beats make it easy for anyone to like.

Lo-fi - what does it mean?
Lo-fi short for low fidelity. Shortened version coined by a great man born in CD Guz was used to name the music genere that all intellectuals have grown to admire, Lo-fi hippidie hop. This music is best used to arouse the minds of studious students while they study for the upcoming battles. The elites used this music to keep up studies during all nighters. In history Lo-fi was created when the great man born in CD Guz, third of his name, learned to derive in the third grade. It has been said that the very day this man learned derivations was the same day he created this masterpiece of music.

Lo-fi - slang
A type of non-lyrical* music that contains origins and influences from Boom-Bap/ New York Underground instrumentals, 1960's and 1070's jazz samples, and electronic music. It's name, Lo-Fi comes from the term "low-Fidelity" which in this case if reference to the sounds of vinyl crackle and sample distortion which is used in a number of ways, namely the provocation of nostalgia, and to distance the sample or melody from any other song with a similar sound. Lo-Fi is primarily composed of a beat (similar to that of a hip-hop beat but with less bass) and looped samples (commonly used samples include piano melodies and clips of Wes Montgomery) most songs are relaxing and evoke positive emotions, often time nostalgia.
