What is farming?
In Gaming: (verb) to farm; to stay in one specific place in order to aquire more of a certain item or money. On certain games it can be said to "farm honor."
Ex:
Player 1 "I need to go to the the other zone to farm primals for my weapon, see you later!"
Ex:
Player 1 "Man this kid has been here killing other players for hours. He must really need to farm honor!"

Farming - what is it?
The CIA training ground at Camp Peary, where recruits are trained to become field officers (American Spies). Lots of cool and sneaky skills are taught and practiced there. Also the place where most CIA officers get married.
After I graduated from the farm, I became a Field Officer for the CIA. I then spent 2 years overseas recruiting agents for the CIA. Then I met my wife at a CIA social and we got married at the farm. It was beautiful. Too bad our parents weren't aloud to attend.
What does "farming" mean?
This is something that can be bet, sold, or transacted in some manner. It is a methaphorical term that is used to describe all of or a majority of one's money or belongings. The actual ammount of money it represents is dependent on a number of factors.
While playing some no limit Texas Hold 'em, I bet the farm and declared "All in"

1) The act of sleeping in excess of what is needed, sleeping on an irregular schedule, sleeping through one's own alarm, phone calls, loud noises, or any other attempt to wake the "farmer" up.
2) Missing activities due to chronic fatigue caused by irregular sleeping pattern/laziness.
Matt didn't make it to thermodynamics today because he was too busy farming. He was really tired after engaging in "other activities" all night.
Matt said he couldn't make it to the meetings because he had personal problems; however, everyone knew he was just farming.
How the heck did Matt get voted star of the month? He's always farming.

Bill had spent the afternoon farming at the bogs in Marble Arch. As he took the Tube home he took a peek at the two large logs he had wrapped up in his sports bag.

1. In videogames, collecting a certain item (usually a currency) in order to power one's character up.
2. In Maple Story, killing monsters for mesos and items to sell.
3. (Although it is quite obscure) In Call Of Duty, when one lures other players to oneself and camps in order to take in a massive amount of kills. Usually some type of SMG or MG is required for this farming.
