What is adopted?
A 1.4 billion dollar industry in which American couples buy a baby from a third world country for $10,000 to $50,000 USD. There is a strong correlation between the price of the baby and the race of the baby.
During the selection process, every attempt is made to purchase a non-defective human.
Significant portions of the transaction wind up lining the pockets of corrupt third world government officials and shady the non-profit orgagizations involved in connecting the buyers of babies with the sellers of babies.
Angelina Jolie recently paid a lot of money in a shady Tijuana adoption transaction and she wound up getting ripped off.

Adopted - what is it?
A character design made for sale by an artist. Adopts are usually sold online at websites like Amino, Deviant Art, Toyhou.se, etc. They can sell for any type of currency you can think of.
Adopt Artists can have Terms of Service (T.O.S.) for the characters they sell. Common rules include Asking before reselling, No reselling for more than what you bought, No major design changes, etc.
I'm selling some adopts so I can save up for that membership I wanted on Amino.
What does "adopted" mean?
A term usually seen on furry art sites such as DeviantART, Inkbunny, etc. An adoptable is a custom-made cartoon/furry character, specificly made to be sold to someone who is unoriginal and/or too lazy to make their own unique character. Adoptables are usually auctioned off and end up going for ridiculous amounts, even surpassing $200 at times.
