When you are working for free in hopes of getting paid in the future, but the client does not value you or your work to pay you, aka take it to the next level.
Chrissy: Ya, I've been doing some work for Tony, if he gets this new big contract, he is going to pay me, but for now, I am just gonna lay low.

White friend - what does it mean?
A white (Caucasian) person in an all POC friend group. It’s just 1 white person and the rest are POC.
Token white friends are generally used for privileges and to make it seem like the POC “friends” aren’t individually racist towards white people. They won’t let their token white friend sit by them at lunch, and ignore them in lunch, or will ask for homework to be done, sometimes money. You also won’t be invited to hang out, go to parties, etc.
The majority in a POC group (majority as in POC) will try to manipulate and take advantage of token white friend, just for privileges.

White friend - meaning
A Caucasian ally, companion, or compatriot accompanying a non-white person or a group of non-white people (mostly Black or Latinx, but really any shade darker than white); who interacts with law enforcement on behalf of the non-white friend, group, or carpool; acting as the threshold between his/her friends and possible police brutality and violence.
Ideally, the white friend appears as non-threatening to police and is a smooth talker. Sometimes, he/she will be subjected to some abuse, but normally not to the extent that their non-white friends statistically and numerically would experience from the same police officers for similar alleged infractions (however, the white friend could still very much wind up killed, so it can be extremely dangerous).
It is highly recommended for a non-white person living in the United States to have a trustworthy white friend for safety reasons.
