What is The Ring?
An onomatopoeia, which is, you guessed it, commonly used between two BFFs. It usually occurs when one bff needs/wants to ring the other, and usually texts the other saying 'ring ring?' which in bff language translates to, 'can i ring you?'
Mary: Ring ring bee?
Jen: Ummm maybe later after revision.
Mary: Hmmf. Fine. Nvm. ring ring tomorow instead?
Jen: Well i'm kind of seeing sally tomorow..
Mary: HMMMF.
Mary: Hoy, ring ring?
Jen: Well I need to drop my mom off, then finish my homework, then do some revision, then make tea for my brother, then clean out the fish, then pick my mom up, then go to work, then have a shower...
Mary: NVM. HMMMMMMF.
Jen: Sorry we haven't been able to talk much lately.. but we can ring ring tomorow for a whole hour!
Mary: Really!??YAYBEE:)!

A terribly overrated horror movie that is more of a crime thriller then a true horror movie

The Ring - what does it mean?
The Ring is a horror movie starring Naomi Watts and other people I can't remember. If horror movies don't bother you, this won't either. However if horror movies frighten you, don't watch it. You will freak out if your t.v. goes to that static screen, or if someone calls you saying "seven days". Normally horror movies don't bother me but this one did.

The Ring - meaning
The Ring was forged in Mt. Doom where it belong to the evil lord Sauron.
After he was defeated, the Ring went to Isiludur who was tempted by it and did not destroy the precious ring.
After Isiludur was killed, the ring lay dormant with 2,500 years. When suddenly it went to Smegol, an innocent hobbit who wasn't all quite right in the head. Because of his condition, he immediately felt the presnece of the ring and killed his brother for it. The ring poisioned Smegol's mind bringing out Gollum.
After 500 years of killing Smegol and strengthening Gollum, the ring lost grasp and went to Bilbo Bagins.
And after 60 years, the ring slowly worked it's way into Bilbo's mind and he prepared a journey to Mordor to give back the precious ring. Untill his old friend, Gandalf the Grey stopped him.
As fate would have it, Bilbo's newphew Frodo picked up the ring and it was him and him alone that could possess such a powerful thing.
Because of that he went on a quest to destroy it with his best friend Sam and a fellowship of Hobbits, Men, Wizards, Elves and Dwarfs!
The ring must be destroyed!
The Ring - definition
One of the scariest movies possibly known to mankind, anyone who says otherwise is probably lying to look 'cool' as i cant imagine any1 thinkin this movie is anything short of terrifying. Admittedly doesnt make much sense, but the freaky effects and the chick coming outta the well...not the sorta thing to watch home alone!

The Ring - slang
A creepy supernatural horror movie where a reporter and her ex-husband research this urban legend. The original Japanese legend goes that this kid was trying to record this baseball game on this TV in his cabin, but when he played back the tape, he never realized that the channels were different. Instead, he got static, strange images, and someone telling him that he would die in seven days. And sure enough, he did, and the doctors said he died of a cardiac arrest.
The (Jap.) curse is that if you watch a copy of the tape, then you must make a copy and show it to someone else, otherwise you die. And in the original, the phone only rings if you watch it in that cabin.
Two of the characters in the orig. were based on real people, one of whom was a psychic who was claimed to be a fraud (like the mother person in the Jap.), and then there was a person who had this psychic power (called nensha in Japanese) that required the use of a medium like a TV to concentrate her powers on (like Sadako/Samara).

Trippy horror movie that teaches kids not to watch strange videos with small children, kill kids, or make possessed, evil bitches sleep with horses. The special effects also rock... the movie was based off of a popular Japanese movie that was even better. For a taste of the true gore in the movie, rent ti. see also hella died.

The Ring
1. The One Ring created by the Dark Lord Sauron in Tolkein's Lord of the Rings "to bring them all/ and in the darkness bind them/ in the Land of Mordor/ where the shadows lie."
2. Kick-ass horror movie which manages to be an improvement on both the Japanese original and its own sequel. Concerns a video tape which (indirectly) kills its viewers by attracting their way the attention of a little girl you REALLY do NOT want to meet. You've probably heard the sting in the tail, so I won't mention it here.
Always the Nazgul are drawn to the Ring.
