What does "SNES" mean?
Short for "Super Nintendo Entertainment System", A video game console. Released in 1990 in Japan and 1991 in the rest of the world, it is known as as the "nostalgia console". This means that people complain about the video game industry of today and want everything to be like the good ol' days of the Super Nintendo. It is the second home console made by the greatest video game compagny on earth, Nintendo. Includes a great and simple controller, as well as awesome games like Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Super Metroid, Zelda ALTTP, Kirby Super Star, Chrono Trigger, the list goes on...
Dumb people say it's the only great console Nintendo has done but plays Call of Duty and League of Legends since 3 years and talking trash about Nintendo.
Real fans know that every home console made by Nintendo is great, from the NES to the Switch.
Recently, Nintendo released a small version of the console including some of the best games on the system. People are so nostalgic about it that it's sold out everywhere and scalpers try to sell them three times the original price.
While everyone is playing on some online game on their PC, here I am playing Yoshi's Island on my SNES.

SNES - meaning
Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Nintendo's 16-bit console. It was the first console with shoulder buttons on it's controller and had a button layout which is still being copied by other companies to this day.
It had great hardware at it's time, and some of the great 2D still impresses today.
The thing which made the console great though, was the games. The SNES had a great selection of games of most genres.
Some of the best SNES games are: Super Mario World, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Donkey Kong Country series, Megaman series, Super Metroid, Super Mario Kart, F-Zero, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy series, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Lufia series, Earthbound, Illusion of Time, Terranigma, Starwing, Super Bomberman series, Street Fighter 2, Final Fight series and more...

Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The non-Jpanese version of the Super Family Computer (Super Famicom). 16bit game system that brought us classic games such as Final Fantasy VI, Zelda, Yoshi's Island, Street Fighter II, Chrono Trigger etc. etc.
Nintendo also was planning on a CD based SNES with collaboration with Sony but this partnership failed and so the "Playstation" was produced solely by Sony, and Nintendo forever lost the ability to have CD-ROM support in their consoles (They also messed up with Phillips).
SNES9X and ZSNES are good PC emulators for SNES.
