What is PhenylAcetaLdehyde?

Phenylacetaldehyde (PAL) is a chemical used in food, fragrances, and in the synthesis of chemicals. Phenylacetaldehyde can be condensed with ethylamine to make Phenylacetaldehyde ethylimine, then reacted with either methylmagnesium iodide in diethyl ether (or dibutyl ether) to yield Ethylamphetamine or with ethylmagnesium chloride in diethyl ether (or dibutyl ether) to yield DEPEA (N,a-DiEthylPhenEthylAmine).
