What does "ODU" mean?
Lame ass televised correspondance courses that take up too much time, cost too much, and cover the same material that your community college teaches while you pay 3x the tuition.
Alternate: Program in which you trade time and money for a college degree, learning is optional.
Alternate: Program in which hands on experience is replaced with "Virtual Labs." The so called virtual labs consist of computer simulations nad writing long reports that are graded on margin width, font size, etc. instead of content.

Old Dominion University, located in Norfolk, VA. The school is very famous for its computer team, the ODU Trolls. They also have a pretty good basketball team, but most people don't really care. The best place to stand at odu is in the caves of BAL. Edra works in the cafeteria, and you are bound to see habib and his abnormally fat ass there too. If you do decide to attend odu, be sure to take Biology 115 with Nancy Wade - she is the best teacher ever! Some people live on campus, but they all suck. The commuters make this school great.
There are TWO starbuck's on campus at ODU, making it perfect for you people who love to spend five dollars a cup on coffee. For everyone else, 7-11 is across the street.
Also, beware of the behs. i have seen at least one up close, but my friend claims to have seen her naked.

Actually stands for Old Dominion University, the nickname of the crappy state that it is located in, Virginia, for those who don't know. Is actually a university with six crappy colleges in it, such as College of Ass and Lips. The only thing that makes it great is the fact that it's a commuter college, but no one can ever get to class because of the crappy traffic. BAL is 9 stories of crap, as are all the buildings, and someone needs to run into the glass wall of the Ted, so named for an old fart who donated money. Also known as the school with the unusable monorail down the center of campus.

Old Dominion University aka - Old Dirty University. An urban hellscape in norfuck virginia...one place you don't want to be after dark.... be prepared to sleep in your locked car.

When people think of colleges in Virginia, they name schools such as UVA, VTech, William and Mary, JMU, etc. But the one school that is overlooked is Old Dominion University!
It is an up and coming school and definitely will be in peoples minds when applying for college in a few years. Its on it way to becoming like UVA, VTech, W&M, JMU, etc.
The school is doing tons of renovations such as brand new dorms, a monarch theater, building extensions to every building, and even more.
ODU has just got a brand new division 1-AA football team which finished the season with a 9-2 record! The best record in college football history!
And for basketball fans, ODU's basketball team won the division championship and made it into the NCAA tournament!
Okay, maybe ODU doesnt have the best football team like VTech or the best food like JMU...But its going to get there!
People usually don't like the surrounding areas around ODU. Yes, its the downside, but ODU will be buying off all that surrounding land and making the campus look even nicer than it already is!
ODU's is famous for its academic programs in Engineering, Science, and Business.
With almost 10 million dollars being put towards the Master Plan of an extreme makeover of Old Dominion University, Campus will be the experience of a life time for anyone.

Old Dominion University located in the Lamberts Point District of Norfolk. The Campus is between Bolling Ave and 41 Street. The school is the boarder between the ghetto of Norfolk which starts at 42nd Street and goes down toward the Ghent area. The Elizabeth River is right next to the fatherest dorm on campus Whitehurst, the other dorms are The Inn, Roger's, Ghersham, Powhatan, Ireland, and Virginia which are located around campus. The school was founded between the years fo 1910 and 1920 as a sister school to William and Mary. The tallest building on campus is Batan Arts and Letters or BAL it stands about 9 stories and is the the tallest building in the area. Starting in 2009 ODU will field its first football team to compete against other area schools like William and Mary and Norfolk State to name a few. The school has also completed a new state of the art fitness facility which has several basketball courts, an indoor track, a two level wieght lifting area, climbing wall, and a pool. The main building on campus is the Webb Center in the middle of campus, here can be found many different school offices like Student Affairs, Health services, Cafe 1201 and several places to eat. It should be noted that the food at Cafe 1201 is not very good and is more often then not monte cristo sandwhichs, a salad bar, pizza, a nachos place, a sandwhich stand, and stir fry place. Rogers and Whitehurst also have dinning halls though be careful as to not get the famous "Roger's Runs".
While in the daylight the school is safe, be careful walking down past 42nd street late at night as this is an area filled with crack heads and gang bangers. If you do choose to walk around this area at night bring several friends and you may also run in to Einstien the local crack head. ODU is know by 2 other names more commonly known today as Ole Dirty University, in the 80's is was known as Over Dose University because of the large drug trade in the area. While most of the students are commuters it should be noted that one should go home on the weekends because the dorms become a ghost town. If one chooses to stay 42nd street is a well known party street with every house throwing down. ODU is about 20 minutes from Virginia Beach and about 5 minutes with good traffic to Downtown Norfolk.
Where can one get an education and get hooked on crack at the same time?
