What is Liberal?
I wish to begin by saying that no definition of Liberal can be found without some personal bias of the author. I myself am a liberal, and although I believe this to be a comprehensive definition, others will define Liberal in a more callous sense. They are mistaken, but that's just my opinion. "Baby killer", for instance, is merely a stereotype of a liberal.
Of the left wing in the political spectrum; liberal is a broad term usually lost in the flurry of stereotypical distinctions like Democrat, Anarchist, Libertarian, Green, or Socialist. Liberals typically value personal freedom and the well-being of others over their own moral opinions. Liberals have been the moving force in American culture for centuries, with the conservatives being the holding force. Liberals were responsible for the emancipation and suffrage of blacks, women's suffrage, the teaching of evolution, and other political decisions considered controversial by the right. Atheists are typically associated with the left, as are gays, blacks, "pro choice" proponents, and American intellectuals. It is confusing to associate either liberals or conservatives with America's financial base, because both sides have wealthy families. America's religious base is more commonly aligned with conservatives, and thus most attacks on liberals are fueled by religious fervor (criticizing liberals on being pro-choice on abortion, on not supporting the War in Iraq, on calling for stricter enforcement of separation of church and state, etc). In recent years, there have been few good representatives of Liberalism, those few being Michael Moore, Howard Dean, John Kerry, and a handful of relatively unknown writers and artists (Howard Zinn, Zach De La Rocha, etc).
Why do conservatives call liberals "commies", even though communists are conservatives themselves? Is it too hard to say "socialists"?

noun: A person who, because of a brilliantly ineffectual two-party system, has been made out as the "enemy of democracy" in the minds of those currently in power. Every vicious, hateful post against these people (and against conservatives) helps take our minds off of the real ills of society so that we may feel like we're doing good by hating SOMETHING.

What does "Liberal" mean?

Pejorative and dismissive term used by self titled patriots to collectively refer to all that is wrong with the world and any individual or group who does not agree with them.
Uses:
1). Euphemism: frequently applied in instances where the user would prefer to use more derogative racial, religious and class slurs but is afraid to reveal their true beliefs publicly.
2). Political: Applied to all opposing belief systems that do not priorly qualify for inclusion under the definition of pure evil. (See: Other Nations).
3). Religious: applied to groups or individuals that do not demonstratively subscribe to any or all of the holy trinity or Guns, Gold and God. (Refer: Godless Liberals).
4). Education: Applied to anyone who uses words such as demonstratively (Refer: Educated Liberal Elite).
5). Civil rights: Applied to anyone or organisation seeking to restrict the inalienable conservative right to discriminate against, deny liberty to or restrict personal freedoms of those they don’t like, disagree with or fear. (Hist: Afro Americans, Mexicans, Homosexuals).

Liberal people have open minds. They don't let people tell them how they should live, who to love, and who to worship. They know how to keep the Church out of the Government. They are the most intellectual, Educated, logical people out there. The come mostly from the Democratic party. The Conservatives and Republicans fear them because they have the capacity to rule nations. Made to seem bad by the Republican party because Republican hate not having control! Liberals believe love will conquer hate and that an open mind will close hate!

Liberal - slang
The term varies a lot between contexts, so, to avoid looking like a dumbass, I'll stick with the ones I know.
#1: Liberal, adjective, non-political.
Stating using a large dosage of something or having mostly nonrestrictive views about issues such as sex or religion.
Example: I used a liberal amount of sugar to make those cookies. I am fairly liberal when it comes to what Church I go to. I am liberal and venturesome in the bedroom.
#2: Liberal, adjective, political.
Example:
Due to the sheer amounts of hate and propoganda floating around here, I will try to be as objective as possible.
Liberals are generally on the left side of the political spectrum. This is the same side as communists, fascists, and socialists. However, most liberals are not communists, or fascists, or socialists to any significant degree. Communism is to the far end of Liberalism. It is about the destruction of all class and property distinctions between people, like China during the Great Leap Forward. Fascism is a strong, centrist dictatorship, but is not communist. An example would be Suddam Hussein's Iraq.

Socialism is the blanket term that most accurately describes what many moderate liberals believe. It is like a watered-down form of communist in it's media-presented form. However, it is not that simple. It is about the government and the people aiding one another and distributing supplies and wealth according to a system. The degree of socialism ranges strongly, from almost non-existent levels such as in ancient Rome's alimentia, which was free bread and vegetable soup to the poor. The extreme end would be Hitler's Germany, which had programs for the betterment of certain Germans. It brought the country out of WW1, but it turned essentially fascism with social security.
I think I've said enough. If you haven't figured it out already, I am a Liberal. Thats the end of part 1. I'd post more, but someone implemented limits on how long entries can be.
Liberal
A truly compassionate person. One who thinks that there is more to life than making money. Unlike conservatives, believes that government has a responsiblity to take care of ALL citizens, not just the white, wealth males.
Liberals are responsible for pulling America out of the Great Depression, creating Medicare and keeping the Christian Coalition from taking over your life.

The top percentage of intelligence in America. Unfortunately, their are enough conservatives to simply overwhelm Liberals, especially in the uneducated and regilious zealot redneck states.
New York voted for John Kerry even when it was attacked by terrorists. Conservatives response to the terrorist attacks were to invade one country that had very little to do with 9/11 attacks and another that had absolutely nothing to do with it. What retards.
Liberal
Liberalism is really the politics of the thinking man. Areas of the country with the highest percentages of educated people, for example, are overwhelmingly liberal. Stereotypically, liberals know too much for their own good. Oftentimes while conservatives are busy making horrible political decisions, liberals alone bear the burden of actually having to understand what consequences will arise. See also, Democrat, which is a happy middle ground politically speaking for liberals who have too much money to be totally idealistic, or for marginalized groups who have traditionally been alienated by the antics of many in the Republican party.
The so-called liberal bias is actually a bias in the level of education attained. For example, university professors are overwhelmingly liberal in national samples, which coincides with their having attained advanced degrees.
