What is JLS?
This acronym comes from Britney Spears' little sister's name, Jamie Lynn Spears, whom had premature sexual intercourse and ended up pregnant at 16 years (she is best known for her lead role as Zoey in Nickelodeon's Zoey 101). This is a variation of lol that is directed at other people's misfortunes.

What does "JLS" mean?
JLS stands for Jack the Lad Swing. A British boyband who came in second to Alexandra Burke on X Factor in 2008 but have still had an amazing career.
The band consists of 4 members: Marvin Humes, OritsƩ Williams, JB Gill and Aston Merrygold. They are all good looking, extremely talented in singing and dancing, they are always down-to-earth and make as much time for their fans as they can.
Their first two singles 'Beat Again' and 'Everybody in Love' went straight to number 1 in the UK singles charts. Their self-titled debut album sold over 1,000,000 copies in the UK. Their second album 'Outta this World' debuted at number 2 on the UK album charts.
JLS won 2 Brit awards in 2010 -BEST British Breakthrough Act & BEST British Single. They also won 4 Mobo Awards.
Before X Factor, JLS were called UFO -Unique Famous Outrageous- and won their first award at the Urban Music Awards in late 2007 for BEST un signed act.
The boys have gone from strength to strength each year being together now for 4 years. They have had a sold out Theater Tour, a sold out Arena Tour and a sold out Summer Tour. They have also had a 3D movie which was originally going to be out for one day, but due to popular demand, it came out over 2 weekends.
JLS have an amazing fanbase which has spread across Europe, America and other countries across the world.
there is proof on Twitter of JLSters from other countries, many people make support/fan pages on twitter and facebook for them aswell. They continue going from strength to strength which is shown through their music, concerts etc.

The 4 boys involved are only famous because pre teen girls fancy them all and dream of marrying them, not due to any real musical ability or singing talent. They spend their time bringing out condoms with their names on the to make sure teens 'Just Love Safe' not actually writing meaningful lyrics of their own. For example their lyrics to the song 'Everybody in love'-

Despite this they have had 3 UK number ones and a rabid fanbase of tweens and their mothers who think they are the Chippendales
