those stupid but hullarious to watch kids that go around in tight ass pants & stud belts &black converse & the straightened swoop bangs w/ black or verry dark hair that talk about how much they hate their lives && about killing themselves even though we know, and so do they, that they will never have teh balls to do it. oh, and they commenly wear cheap stunnas from warped tour or hottopic & they can even be cought in hollister from time to time. Basicly, theyre teh biggest fucking posers on the planet.

Well First of all an Emo Kid is totally WAY smarter than you. They look at the world as nice but the inhabitants
as ridiculously stupid. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CONSERVATIVE EMO They like what generally isn't trendy and listen to music such as taking back sunday , the used etc...
An emo kid doesn't talk much. May occasionally have an outbreak of rage (they are bottler uppers) around everyone but their friends.
What does "Emo Kid" mean?
Someone who usually has short, black choppy hair with a side fringe bang that covers most of their face. They wear funky punkish clothes that are totally random and unexpected and in my book {really cool}. Their hair sometimes has one or two strands of un natural hair color such as red, pink, green, purple, ect. Very original style; both the guys and girls wear black nailpolish and eyeliner...oh by the way emo stands for any of the following:emotional punk movement, emotional hardcore, or just emotional. Emo kids are usually quiet and iscolated...they see themselves as outcasts. Also, emo has alot to do with the music, not just fashion and groups. If you dont listen to emo music, which is usually dark and depressing, you are not emo. Not all emos have suicidal thoughts and cut themselves;this is just a stereotype!!! Also, they hate it when you confuse them with scene, goth, or punk kids because they are all VERY different genres. You can usually find an emo kid sitting alone somewhere, or with a very small group of other emos, writing poetry, into a good book, or doing something creative. That's really all it is, creativity and being yourself.
Emo Kid: Somewhat overly emotional person who dresses in mostly black and some color who listens to emo music, such as My chemical romance, Sunny Day Real estate, Mineral, saetia, Indian summer, ect.

My life is spiraling downward, I couldn't get enough money to go see the Blood Red Romance and Suffocate me Dry tour, it sucks cause they play some of my favorite songs like Stab my Heart Because I Love You and Rip Apart my Soul and of course Stabby Rip Stab Stab.

Emo Kid - meaning
an Emo kid is someone who listens to Emo, Screamo.
By really understanding this Music, even before reading the genre (on the net), well that wuold make him emotional.
what im trying to say is that by understanding Emo or Screamo Music makes you an emotional person.
by saying Emotional I mean someone who is in touch with his feelings, not that he is only depressed!!!(he could or not be).

(WARNING)This is a list of experiences and encounters of emo kids that I have had. This isn’t a fact but a stereotype. But what is a stereotype but a basic description of someone or something. Again not all of these are a fact but hey you have to give things a label. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck its an emo kid... j/k

Yes I think we all know that there are many different types of Emo Kids just like every other label. Emo kids are not in a class all of there own. There will always be crossovers exceptions and tangential relations. My intent is to help categorize the effort.
How you can identity an Emo Kid:
1.) Different types of Music and Emo genres:
Emo is a broad title that covers a lot of different styles of emotionally-charged punk rock.
Screamo Kids (Bands like Hawthorne Heights, Sasoin, Rise Against, Senses Fail, Silverstein, Underoath, Atreyu, The Used) Along the lines of Postcore music.
Scene/Emo Kids (Bands like A Heartwell Ending) Similar to Scremo mostly local bands.
Pop-punk/Emo Kids (Bands like Anberlin, Armor for Sleep, Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, Story of the Year, Simple Plan, Yellowcard, Coheed & Cambria, Thursday)
Indie/Emo Kids (Bands like Motion City Soundtrack, Dashboard Confessional, The Early November, The Juliana Theory, Something Corporate, The Spill Canvas, Jimmy Eat World)
Gothic/Emo Kids....?(Avenged Sevenfold) More Gothic then Emo but they have been linked to Emo. I've never seen Gothic/Emo kids but I live in the Midwest plus Gothic and Emo are very different here.
The songs mostly consist of Depressing situations with Friends, Ex girl friends, Staying out late, Time spent with a loved one, Complaining, Heartbreak, Misfortunes, Death, Dying, and Suicide.
Some would say the music that they listen to is “whiny”. Well it is just read the lyrics.
Here is what the Dictionary says about “whiny”:
1. To utter a plaintive, high-pitched, protracted sound, as in pain, fear, supplication, or complaint.
2. To complain or protest in a childish fashion.
Clothing/Hair Style of Emo Kids:
Black Zip-up Hoodie (Maybe with a Band on it. My Chemical Romance "Revenge" hoodie I saw 10 different kids last week wearing them at a local show with emo/screamo/scene local bands. Gray and Brown zip-up hoodies are also known to be part of this subculture.
Definition of Subculture:
Meaning non main stream. People ask me what Emo is all the time. But everyone knows what a Geek or Freak or Jock or Prep is. So don’t take my terminology in a negative way.
Black, thick framed horn-rim glasses is popular.
Piercing/lip rings could have more then one. Mainly above the neck.
Borderline Indie Style clothing Retro.
An extra small t-shirt (black/band) some times wears girls t-shirts /random slogans
Scene/Emo Kids have been seen wearing Hollister and Abercrombie and Fitch Polo's
Pretty tight dark dark blue denim/black pants.
Girls pants on guys (they are pushing “The Scene” boarder)
Bandana in a pocket of the pants (they are pushing “The Scene” boarder)
Shoes black Converse All Star shoes/hightops/American Eagle low tops/ Adidas low tops.
Possibly a black studded belt or white/colorful (I personally have a brown leather belt but I want a black studded one.)
Rarely carrying around some notebook/poetry book/messenger bag but I hear they are out there.
They have dark brown or dyed-black hair to or past the ears covers their face or over one eye.
Boys with light natural blonde hair are more borderline Scene.
But emo girls can have light natural blonde hair.
Chaos Mohawk is another style.
The Emo Romulan look - short, thick, greasy, dyed-black hair with bangs cut straight across the forehead, and cut high over the ears.
Random Emo Characteristics:
Emo is not and never will be close to gothic. Gothic people poop bats.(well not really I just thought it sounded funny so j/k)
Emo = emotional
Not all emo style kids are emotional it is more of a trend to them less of a way of life.
True emo kids have serious emotional problems. ( I do)
Your typical emo kid maybe usually be depressed, sad, upset, maybe angry at the world. They always talk about heartbreak. Always-about misfortunes, and never see the upside of things.
Often skinny, anorexic thinness (I should know I am)
May play an instrument (example acoustic guitar)
Beer that synonymous with the Emo scene is Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Bi-sexual Emo Guys are are more Scene then Emo.
If they play video games They might play Ol' school Nintento or Sega DreamCast.
They do not jump around when they go to shows.
Online Emo Kids:
They have a Livejournal and or a Myspace account.
There screen names may consist of "x's" an example guy xxcollapseofmyheartxx example girl xxonethousandtearsxx (not real screen names)
Take photos of above or across the face but rarely a direct face shot is taken if so the hair is always in the way.
Personally I feel that Emo is no longer a style on its own anymore it has been taken on by other labels and new labels have spawned from them.
Something a Emo Kid might say: I feel so emo today.... Blah! I haven't eatin today and my LJ profile wont load and myspace is down. Im so lonley I don't know why girls don't like me.

well, basically we are a race of very different indivi duals...do not get us mixed up with GOTH, SCENE, PREP, PUNK or anything other than EMO, got it? we see the world as it really is, beaut iful but ruined, mainly by humanity, sorry folks, its true...we know that life is cold, dark, scary and threat ening, but we also know that love is the most important thing in the worls, whether it is friends, family or a relationship, we take relationships very seriously as we are quite possibly the worlds most lovin people. its the popular belief that evry emo is gay and/or cuts their wrists...NOT TRUE! sure, emo guys love to make out, and we sure do love to see them making out! but it doesnt necesarily mean that they are gay, although there is nothing wrong if they are (if you think so youre a homophobe) as, as i just said, we believe that love is the most important thing in life, in any way shape or form. oh, other than music of course! also, emo kids do not cut thier wrists, well ok some do but let me make myself clear IT IS NOT COMPULSARY, OK! oh, and emo kids dont have to like emo music, i do and lots of others do, but we also have a wide range of tastes, from club (not me but i know people), to punk, to hardcore, to goth etc etc etc...real emo kids are not emo coz its cool, we are emo coz we are emo!!!

Emo Kid
First of all, anyone who calls themself "emo" is obviously a poseur. Emo kids are usually called that by other people, and they just don't fit in. They like Fugazi etc. or more modern post-emo music. Emo kids tend to wear really tight pants black-rimmed glasses, and hang out with either the druggies, or the straight edge ones hang out with themselves. Ultimately, an emo kid is a person, usually a teenager, who is still trying to find out who they are, so they want to be like the angry or sad music they listen to because they can relate to it.
the few kids who sit in the corner of the cafeteria alone, ignore everyone else unless they're making fun of them, and still have fun.
Emo Kid
One that confides in others of his kind, ignores most of his/her peers, BUT if you get to know this person usually they are very nice but its hard to get to know them b/c very seldom do they speak. They wear a lotta goodwill (AWESOME), engage into straight edgity, often have side parted hair and are very emotional but also very loving but seem to be very depressed, look at the darker side of things, really just see the glass as half empty but enjoy this and really do know how to express themselves and arent afraid of what others think or say:)

One who rejects "pop culture" and joins the counter-culture realm. Usually has ideas contrary to popular opinion and seeks to gain a better understanding of life through artistic venues. May appear depressed, have black or red hair, and dress in a way that is contrary to what is popular. Thrift stores, art, coffee shops, underground music, and poetry are usually of great interest. Contrary to popular opinion, though an emo kid may seem depressed, within their own group there is an element of deep understanding and friendship. Emo kids see the world as beautiful, but its inhabitants as lost and depressing.
