a 20th-century writer, most notably of Brave New World, who used hallucinogenic drugs could bring a person closer to mystical enlightenment.
I just read Brave New World. Aldous Huxley was a genius.

Aldous Huxley - what is it?
A great author of the 1st half of the 20th century. He's made such books as "Brave new World" A walk into a utopian society. Alot of his books are out of this world, considering he was a LSD/Acid user. He would use it as a fuel for his stories. He died in California in 1963.
Aldous Huxley makes some trippy stories.
